If you are from the Mid-Atlantic area, then you have likely been to Ocean City for at least a few family summer vacations growing up. Perhaps you even ventured to OC for the famed “Senior Week” as a rite of passage from high school to college. And now, you are getting married, and one of your favorite beach destinations is at the top of the list for bachelorette party spots. Why? Well for one, Ocean City is within driving distance of many major cities like Baltimore, Annapolis, DC, and often attracts guests from Northern Virginia, Pennsylvania and of course Delaware.
Just head East on Route 50, put on your favorite tunes, and pack your besties in the car as you set out for your “last fling before the ring” party. With miles of beautiful beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, and daytime and nightlife options that can appease anyone from the super relaxed “I just want to chill on the beach” type bride, to the “let’s do the bar crawl and wrap up the night doing shots at Seacrets” type bride, there is something for everyone.
Where to stay for an Ocean City Bachelorette Party?
You can stay Bayside or Oceanside in Ocean City, with options like The Blue Turtle and Fager’s Hotels (offering several different properties with a variety of options and price points). There is also nearby Dewey Beach or Rehobeth Beach that remain super popular destinations. There are a variety of hotels, motels and privately-owned beach condos, so there is no shortage of options as far as places to stay for an OC bachelorette party. It is highly recommended to book in advance if possible, because summer months are high tourism months, so you are likely to get a better deal and dibs on the place you want to stay if you book in advance.
Where to Go For An OC Bachelorette Party?
Luckily, there is no shortage of things to do, bars, live music and entertainment in Ocean City and the surrounding areas. Of course, there is the infamous Seacrets that is both a popular spot to eat, day drink and party until last call. There are so many bayside beach bars on site, you and your girls could never leave and still have a great time. There is usually live music on weekends. The line to get in can back up, so we recommend reaching out ahead of time to let them know your bach group is coming. For some child-like fun, head to the Ocean City Boardwalk. Whether you go for the must-have Thrasher’s french fries, to shop, to people watch or to ride some carnival rides, it’s a guaranteed great time. Personally, we love Macky’s and Fager’s Island. Fager’s has a very organized bachelorette party package that includes a scavenger hunt (how fun!). Contact them directly for details and reservations. As far as restaurants, there are hundreds! Have a crab feast (does it get any more Maryland than that?) or grab tapas, lite-fair and wine and Liquid Assets.
Free Fun in OC
Of course, most beachy Ocean City bachelorette parties will want to spend time in the sun on the beach. Grab your towels, sunscreen, floaties and tunes, for some free and good old-fashioned fun. Feeling adventurous? Rent bikes, grab a boogie board or book a group surf lesson through one of the many Ocean City surf shops.
